Our Mission

Deaf Sailing USA (DSUSA) advances inclusive sailing opportunities for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing individuals through education, training, mentorship, competition, and leadership development. We are committed to removing communication barriers, fostering excellence on and off the water, and expanding access to sailing at every level—from first-time sailors to international competition.

About Us

Deaf Sailing USA (DSUSA) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing within the Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing communities throughout the United States. We believe sailing should be accessible to everyone, regardless of communication needs.

Through partnerships with yacht clubs, sailing schools, community organizations, and international governing bodies, DSUSA provides opportunities for individuals to learn, compete, develop leadership skills, and build lifelong friendships through sailing.

Our organization supports recreational sailors, competitive athletes, coaches, volunteers, and future leaders while advocating for full communication accessibility and Deaf representation throughout the sailing community.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, DSUSA relies on volunteers, community partnerships, sponsors, and donors to expand opportunities for Deaf sailors across the country.
